Police cruiser crashes into Garland District house

Spokane police Officer Beatrice Spolski crashed her cruiser into a home in the Garland District late Sunday night while trying to locate a reckless driving suspect.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Wall Street and West Walton Avenue, Spokane police spokesman Officer Ben Green said.

No one in the home was injured, and the Spolski was treated for minor injuries at the scene, Green said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and will receive a supervisory review, he said.

Police stopped the 21-year-old reckless driving suspect several blocks away and cited him for reckless driving and other infractions, Green said.
