Obituary: Evans, Helen A.
Age 88
Our mother, Helen A. Evans, passed away at Hospice House North on October 11, 2015.
Helen was born on January 27, 1927 in Portland, OR., to Theodore and Edith Morgan.
After graduating from Jefferson High School, she and her family moved to Spokane where she met the love of her life Lewis N. Evans.
They met when Lew returned home from serving his country at the end of WWII.
She was literally the girl next door.
She resided in the family home for nearly 70 years.
After raising her sons Helen returned to school and earned her degree as a Medical Records Tech.
and worked in that field until retirement.
Her fondest memories were the many summers spent with family and friends at their summer home on Loon Lake.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and beloved husband Lew (2001) and many aunts uncles and cousins.
She is survived by sons: Craig, Lee (Georgie) and Steve all of Spokane; grandchildren: Leslie (Scott) Poole Vancouver, WA., Eric (Malana) Evans, Jennifer (Andrew) Walker, Matthew Evans all of Spokane; eight great-grandchildren, and her much loved two dogs and four cats.
We will miss Mom’s loving personality, wit and sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Spokane and Hospice House North for the wonderful care given our mom.
A private family gravesite service will be held at the Loon Lake Cemetery at a later date.
