Obituary: Jewett, Robert T. “Bob”

Age 49

JEWETT, Robert T. “Bob” (Age 49) May 24, 1966 - August 28, 2015 Bob was born in Spokane, raised in Colbert, WA, and graduated from Mead High School in 1984.

He attended Whitworth College (University), graduating in 1988 with a Bachelors Degree in Geology.

Bob began his career as a geologist with the U.S. Bureau of Mines Northwest Region in Spokane.

After the Bureau closed, he was employed by Westmont Mining as an exploration geologist in the Republic, WA area.

There he met and married Denise.

They settled in Chesaw, WA where their daughter, Brittany, was born.

Bob began a partnership in an analytical lab in Republic and expanded to Alaska and Central America (Honduras).

Bob was also involved with the Chesaw Rodeo, Volunteer Fire Fighter and other community activities.

Not busy enough, he began an new business “U.S. Stone” with partner Greg Prescott.

Columnar basalt rock formations from Bob’s quarry were prepared by Bob and his staff into fountains and other displays.

These have been shipped to landscape companies throughout the country.

One such display can be seen at the entry to the Seattle Convention Center which spans over I-5.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.

Survived by his wife Denise, daughter Brittany, father Bob (Ila), brother Randy (Susan), sister Christy (Lee) and his dog and traveling partner Jasper.

A memorial service will be held October 24th at 2:00pm at the Chesaw Rodeo Hall in Chesaw, WA.
