Women’s soccer: Idaho extends winning streak to eight

Idaho scored three second-half goals and extended its winning streak to eight matches with a 4-0 victory over North Dakota (4-10-2, 2-5-1) in a Big Sky Conference match in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The Vandals’ Alyssa Lloyd opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Kavita Battan, Olivia Baggerly and Kaitlyn Joy all added goals in the second half.

Amanda Poertner made four saves for Idaho (12-4-1, 8-0), which plays Big Sky foe Northern Colorado Sunday in Greeley, Colorado.

Pepperdine blanks Gonzaga 4-0

Christina Settles scored twice to guide Pepperdine (7-6-2, 2-3) past Gonzaga 4-0 in a West Coast Conference match in Malibu, California.

Hailey Harbison and Bri Visalli added goals for the Waves.

Gonzaga (2-9-5, 1-4-1) plays Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Eastern Washington earns bid to Big Sky tournament

Eastern Washington claimed a spot in the Big Sky Conference tournament after playing to a 2-all draw with Northern Colorado (11-6-1, 6-1-1) in Greeley, Colorado.

The Eagles trailed 2-0 at halftime, but second-half goals from Abby Klinkenberg and Aimie Inthoulay forced overtime.

Eastern Washington (11-3-2, 5-2-1) hosts North Dakota on Sunday.

Keever’s goal lifts Washington past No. 14 California

Kimby Keever’s 87th-minute goal gave Washington (11-3-2, 4-2-1) a 1-0 Pac-12 Conference win over No. 14 California (10-5-1, 4-3) in Seattle.

Huskies’ keeper Sarah Shimer made five saves and recorded her first career shutout.
