Women’s soccer: Whitworth plays to 1-all draw with Linfield

Courtney Potter scored her first goal of the season in the 55th minute and Whitworth played to a 1-all draw with Linfield in a Northwest Athletic Conference match Saturday in Spokane.

Emma Vukic scored an unassisted goal in the 30th minute for the Wildcats (8-4-2, 5-4-2).

The Pirates (6-8-2, 4-6-2) host Willamette on Sunday.

Lowery guides North Idaho to victory

Meg Lowery scored twice to lead North Idaho past Walla Walla 5-1 in a Northwest Athletic Conference match in Walla Walla.

Emily Aspden, Corinne Ariss and Jessica Scott all added goals for the Cardinals, who held a 16-9 shot advantage over the Warriors (5-7-3, 4-5-1).

It was the fourth straight win for NIC (9-4-2, 7-2-1), which will play Community Colleges of Spokane Wednesday at Spokane Falls Community College in a battle for first place in the NWAC’s east division.

Taylor’s goal lifts Treasure Valley past CCS

Madison Taylor’s 20th-minute goal held up and Treasure Valley (10-6-1, 6-3-1) edged Community Colleges of Spokane 1-0 in an NWAC match in Ontario, Oregon.

Sasquatch (11-2-1, 8-2) keeper Emily Busselman made five saves.
