Prep volleyball: Gonzaga Prep opens district with sweep of Lewis and Clark

Sophie West finished with nine kills, six blocks and three aces Thursday as Gonzaga Prep swept visiting Lewis and Clark 25-13, 25-10, 25-20 to open the District 8 4A volleyball tournament.

Ellie Rivard added seven kills and two aces, and Emma Curley had 15 assists for the Bullpups.

G-Prep will meet host Central Valley at 11 a.m. Saturday when the tournament continues. No. 2 Mead and No. 3 University will play at the same time and place.

Senior Chloe Dittmar had five digs and two aces for the Tigers, who were eliminated.
