Area residents named to UM spring dean’s list

The University of Montana, in Missoula, has named several local residents to the spring 2015 semester dean’s list. Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or more on a 4.0 scale to be named to the list.

The students are: Ashlee Pedersen, of Mead; Jesse Miller and Michelle Tatko, both of Spokane; Wendy Gregory and Shanna Thompson, both of Spokane Valley.

Brittney Marie Johnson, who completed freshman year at Carroll College, Helena, was appointed to the dean’s list both semesters with a 3.7 grade-point average.

• The University of Idaho named Spokane resident Kiley Miller to the dean’s list at the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences for earning a GPA of 3.5 or more for the semester.

• Spokane resident Jessica Fisher earned a 3.87 GPA for the semester and was named to the honor roll at Central Washington University’s College of Arts and Humanities.

• Arizona State University College of Nursing and Health Innovation, in Phoenix, named Kathryn Imming to the dean’s list for earning a grade-point average of 4.06 for the semester. Imming is a 2013 Mead High School graduate and the daughter of Tom and Wendy Imming.

• Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan, named Eric Walker, of Spokane, to the spring 2015 semester dean’s list. He is the son of Spokane residents Matt and Michelle Walker and graduated in 2012 from The Oaks Classical Christian Academy.

Anusha Gollapalli, of Greenacres, has been named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore for earning a grade-point average of 3.5 or more for the semester.

• Army Reserve Pvt. Dustin Wharton has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. Wharton is the son of John Wharton, of Spokane Valley, and Pamela Day, of Leavenworth, Kansas.

• Private 1st Class Tyler Curtis, of Colbert, has graduated from United States Marine Corps Boot Camp at Marine Corps Depot San Diego after completing intensive basic training as a recruit in the 1st Battalion Delta Company Platoon 1074. He will continue training at Camp Pendleton in California and Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Curtis is a third-generation Marine and is the son of Colbert residents Mark Curtis, a retired master gunnery sergeant, and Jeannie Curtis.
