WSU Cougars Keys to the Game

5: What went wrong

Even while Washington State’s offense piled up 274 yards in the first half, the Cougars managed only 10 points with those 43 plays. WSU also converted on third down just four times in 16 attempts, a key reason why the Cougars scored just three times in nine drives.

6: Difference maker

Kuresa attempted only 12 passes and completed seven for 61 total passing yards. But he rushed for 110 yards from scrimmage and always gave the Vikings an option to move their offense. He rushed for three first downs and picked up 13 yards on a key second-and-14 during PSU’s winning drive.
