Fire teachers who strike

Fire them all. Any teacher who walks a picket line in support of the teachers’ strike should be fired. They can be replaced by teachers who want to work, and all should have to refile their applications.

Former President Ronald Reagan refused to be intimidated by air traffic controllers and fired 10,000 of them. Managers and administrators filled the vacant positions until new controllers could be hired and trained.

This strike, whether it happens or not, is in violation of RCW 41.80.060, which clearly states public employees cannot strike, whether their contract has expired or not. The Spokane Education Association and its members are breaking the law if they strike. The SEA is a disgrace. Using our children as a tool to get what they want is a disgrace and about as low as they can go. They played this card last year in violation of their own contract, which said they would not strike.

Bust this union and start over with people who want to teach without using blackmail. Fire them all.
