Seahawks reach settlement with Robert Turbin

Bob Condotta Seattle Times

RENTON, Wash. – The Seahawks reached an injury settlement with running back Robert Turbin, meaning he is a free agent.

Turbin had been placed on injured reserve over the weekend after clearing waivers. He was waived as injured Friday due to a sprained ankle suffered against San Diego in the third exhibition game.

Turbin was likely to be out at least five to six weeks. Being placed on IR meant he would have been out for the season.

He could theoretically return to the Seahawks. But NFL rules require that a player wait at least six weeks past the time they are healthy to sign with the team that waived them as injured.

Turbin was due to be a free agent at the end of the 2015 season.
