CdA man dies following UTV crash

From staff reports
A Coeur d’Alene man died when he backed his utility task vehicle too close to a steep embankment while doing landscaping work around his home near Fernan Lake Village on Thursday afternoon. Gregg Larson, 56, was partially thrown from the red Kawasaki Mule when it went over the edge of the embankment around 4:30 p.m. and rolled several times. Larson died at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after first being taken to Kootenai Health, a news release from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said. Larson had been working at his home on Fernan Terrace Drive when he backed his UTV too close to the embankment. The UTV finally came to a rest 63 feet away from the area in which Larson had been working, the sheriff’s office news release said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
