Alabama Crimson Tide rolls over Louisiana Monroe 34-0

Jake Coker threw three touchdown passes and No. 12 Alabama’s defense limited Louisiana-Monroe to 92 total yards in a 34-0 nonconference win Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Warhawks (1-2) didn’t have a first down in the first 23 minutes and were held to 9 yards rushing.

It was their first return visit to Alabama (3-1) since stunning the Tide 21-14 eight years ago in coach Nick Saban’s first season, which still stands as the low point of his tenure.

Appalachian State 49, Old Dominion 0: Taylor Lamb threw a career-high four touchdown passes to lead the Mountaineers (2-1) to a win over the Big Blue (2-2) in Norfolk, Virginia.

Toledo 37, Arkansas State 7: Terry Swanson ran for two short touchdowns, Jameson Vest kicked three field goals and the Rockets (3-0) remained undefeated with a win over the Red Wolves (1-3) in Toledo, Ohio.

Akron 35, Louisiana Lafayette 14: Thomas Woodson passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, Conor Hundley ran for two scores and the Zips (2-2) capitalized on turnovers to beat the Ragin’ Cajuns (1-2) in Lafayette, Louisiana.

North Carolina State 63, South Alabama 13: Matthew Dayes ran for three touchdowns, including a 77-yard sprint, and the Wolfpack (4-0) put up 42 first-half points en route to a victory over the Jaguars (2-2) in Mobile, Alabama.

Houston 59, Texas State 14: Greg Ward Jr. threw for 274 yards and four touchdowns and the Cougars (3-0) routed the Bobcats (1-3) in Houston, Texas.
