Obituary: Bowers, Fae Scott

Age 102

BOWERS, Fae Scott Fae Scott Bowers enjoyed more than a century of life in her home state of Washington.

She was an avid reader who never missed her weekly bridge game at Manito Country Club, and enjoyed a good conversation shared over a glass of Scotch.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Fae was born October 5, 1913 to Roland Fronek Scott and Violet Temple Scott in Walla Walla.

She passed away September 12, 2015 just prior to her 102nd birthday in Seattle, Washington.

She attended school in southeastern Washington State.

She graduated with honors from Washington State College in 1934 where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

She married William John (Jack) Bowers in 1933 while attending WSC.

Fae is survived by her three children, John S. Bowers, Susan A. Bucklin, and Michael T. Bowers, 15 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Fae spent her early married life in Chewelah and Colfax, WA., and in 1943 moved to Spokane, when her husband, Jack, joined the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Fae spent the war years working at Galena (currently known as Fairchild AFB) in the office where she was well-positioned in the federal service system.

Following the war, she spent many years as a legal secretary for Graves, Kaiser, Gaiser and Graves.

She finished out her career with the firm of Dellwo, Rudolph, and Grant prior to her retirement in 1985 at the age of 72.

She remained in Spokane as long-time member of St. Augustine and Our Lady of Fatima parishes with her children attending and receiving strong Catholic educations.

Fae moved to Seattle in 2008 to be near her family.

She died peacefully at the age of 101 while residing and receiving loving care at the Magnolia Domicile owned and managed by Leila Dominguez.

The family asks that any remembrances be sent to Gonzaga University where one of her children, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren have either received their degrees or are currently attending.
