Obituary: Hissong, Marilyn Jean

Age 69

HISSONG, Marilyn Jean Marilyn passed away peacefully on September 24, 2015, at Hospice of Spokane North, surrounded by her loving husband, sister and daughters.

Marilyn was born in Walla Walla, WA on March 22, 1946.

Marilyn graduated from Kennewick High School in 1964, and moved to Spokane.

She married Warren Kendall on October 22, 1967, and had two daughters, Mindee and Gina.

They were married for 19 years before parting ways.

Marilyn married Vernon Hissong on May 6, 2000.

Marilyn spent her life working as a bookkeeper.

She loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, family, and friends.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, card making, dancing, and traveling with her wonderful husband.

She also loved spending winters in sunny Mesa AZ, shopping, crafting and riding bikes with her sister, family and friends.

Marilyn was a vibrant, loving, beautiful woman who could light up a room with her smile and laughter.

Marilyn is survived by her parents Bill (Betsy) Jones, and Anna Mae Jones.

Her husband, Vernon Hissong; her two daughters, Mindee (Chris) Gutsche, and Gina (Carson) Welch.

Four grandchildren Colton, Carter, Paisley, and Ryder.

A sister, Syndi Shankle and a brother, Richard Jones.

Also numerous nephews, nieces and other family.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 316 E. 24th Ave., Spokane, on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:30 pm.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane North for the genuine loving care to not only our mother, but to her family as well.
