Chattaroy Cheese Co. is hosting open creamery on Sunday

The family-owned Chattaroy Cheese Co. is hosting an open creamery to celebrate the end of its season.

Sunday offers a chance to tour the farm, meet the goats, and sample and purchase cheese. There will also be live music and face painting.

The fall festival runs from noon to 3 p.m. at 23720 N. Crescent Road. Call (509) 238-9496.

New grocer coming to Spokane

Natural Grocers is planning to open a store at the corner of North Division Street and Wellesley Avenue.

The Colorado-based retailer of natural and organic products is slated to bring about 25 new jobs to the area. It will be the second Natural Grocers in Washington state. The company also has a location in Vancouver.

There’s no date set yet for the opening of the new Spokane store. “But I can tell you it will not be this year,” spokesman Jeremy Jones said.

Founded in 1955, Natural Grocers has 100 stores in 17 states and employs more than 2,200 people. The Coeur d’Alene store opened in March 2014 at 222 W. Neider Ave.

Linda Lunch

Is your name Linda? Do you like to lunch?

The Linda Lunch group is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with lunch in Coeur d’Alene on Oct. 10. RSVPs are needed by Tuesday.

Organizer Linda Shane is looking for new members to revitalize the group, which hasn’t been meeting as much as it used to. Founded in 2005, Linda Lunch is open to anyone in the area whose name is Linda. That’s L-I-N-D-A, not L-Y-N-D-A or any other variation of the name. (No Melindas or Belindas allowed.)
