1. Spokane Bike Swap & Expo 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, 404 N. Havana St. Hundreds of bikes to choose from of every type, size and price, and more than 50 exhibitors. Have a bike you don’t ride anymore? Sell it at Bike Swap, get some extra cash in your pocket and find yourself a new bike, or donate it to receive a donation receipt and admission to the swap. 2. Soblivios 8 p.m. Friday, the Knitting Factory, 919 W. Sprague Ave. Spokane-based metal four-piece headlines a show with Invasive, Children of the Sun, Cold Blooded and Broken Identity. All ages. sp.knittingfactory.com. Admission: $5

3. Ayron Jones and the Way 7:30 p.m. Saturday, The Big Dipper, 171 S. Washington St. Seattle-based rock band, whose first album was produced by Sir Mix-a-Lot, will be in town for a show at the Dipper. Joining them is the local act Hey! Is For Horses. (509) 863-8098. 4. Nine Pint Coggies 7 p.m. Friday, Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center, 405 N. William St., Post Falls. Scottish Fiddle Band plays the ancient to contemporary music of Scotland and beyond with jigs, reels, strathspeys, waltzes, polkas, airs, mazurkas and polkas. (208) 457-8950. Admission: $10

5. Castaway 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Pin, 412 W. Sprague Ave. Six-piece band from San Jose plays melodic hardcore metal. With support from Withered Bones, Heart of an Awl and Fed to the Flames. (509) 368-4077. Admission: $8

6. “Nixon’s Nixon” Friday through April 24, performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m., Stage Left, 108 W. Third Ave. The setting is the White House, in one of the most speculated moments in the history of American politics: the final meeting between President Richard M. Nixon and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger on the eve of Nixon’s resignation speech. (509) 838-9727. Admission: $10

7. Shawn Vestal and Sam Ligon book launch 8 p.m. Tuesday, Washington Cracker Co. Building 304 W. Pacific Ave. Vestal, whose debut short story collection won the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize, will unveil his first novel, “Daredevils,” which centers on a Mormon girl who is married into a polygamist family, the boy who tries to rescue her and Evel Knievel. Ligon is releasing two books, the story collection “Wonderland,” filled with tales of bearded ladies, goats, whiskey bosoms and other weirdness, and the novel “Among the Dead and Dreaming.” Vestal is a columnist at The Spokesman-Review, and Ligon edits Willow Springs, the EWU literary journal, and teaches in Eastern’s MFA program. Moderating the night is novelist Jess Walter. Admission: FREE

8. Interstate Poetry Night: “Crossing the Border” 6-8 p.m. Friday, Coeur d’Alene Library, 702 E. Front Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Spokane and North Idaho poets – including Washington’s and Spokane’s poets laureate – will read from their works and an open mic time for poems from the audience. 9. Emerge Photography Show, opening reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, 208 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. Five local and up-and-coming photographers – Heather Woolery-Larsen, Emily Dishman, Bryan Wood, Keely Brennan and Josh Monteith – exhibit alongside longtime local sculptor Tim Mosgrove. 10. Beacon Hill Reading Series 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Spokane Community College, Hagan Foundation Center for the Humanities, SCC Learning Resources Center, second floor, 1810 N. Greene St. Spring reading with authors Katharine Whitcomb, Jenifer Browne Lawrence and Kate Lebo. The official kick-off for Get Lit. Admission: FREE
