Passover Seder to be held in Coeur d’Alene

From staff reports

A community Passover Seder celebration will be held in Coeur d’Alene on Friday.

Boise-based Chabad Lubavitch of Idaho is organizing the Seder, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at La Quinta Inn and Suites, 333 W Ironwood Dr.

Seating is limited and reservations are required, with preference given to people of Jewish faith. To inquire about a reservation, contact rovingrabbis@jewishidaho.com. The suggested donation is $25 for adults and $18 for children.

The Seder, which will be run by two visiting rabbis, tells the story of the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

“We are delighted to offer this – for the first time – to Jewish residents of North Idaho,” said Rabbi Mendel Lifshitz, director of the Chabad Jewish Center in Boise.

“Passover is not simply a celebration of the historic liberation of an ancient people,” he said. “Passover is about our own personal liberation – physically, emotionally and spiritually.”

Passover begins Friday evening and ends the evening of April 30.
