Spokane’s first Vietnamese Heritage Day Celebration to be held Saturday

From staff reports

Spokane’s first Vietnamese Heritage Day Celebration will take place Saturday, hosted by the Vietnamese American Senior Association of Spokane.

The event is free and open to the public, and includes cultural performances, food, live music and traditional ancestor worship, according to a news release. Activities will be conducted in English and Vietnamese.

The location is the Service Station auditorium, 9315 N. Nevada, from 1-4 p.m.

The heritage day celebration is called Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương in Vietnamese, and is “an expression of gratitude to Vietnam’s founding fathers, the Hung Vuong kings, who established Vietnam” more than 5,000 years ago. For information contact Mary Nguyen at VASA.Spokane@yahoo.com
