JOHNSON, Olaf Leonard

Passed away on March 5, 2016, from complications related to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born in Plentywood, MT, May 31, 1938 to James and Clara Johnson.

He earned his BS and MS degrees at Montana State U. Bozeman.
He moved to Spokane in 1970 with his young family.

He taught school for 36 years in the Central Valley School District.

After retirement, he owned a small landscaping business.

He had many interests and hobbies, including wood carving, gardening, kayaking, mountaineering and reading, especially history.


He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Alice, sons Brian (wife Lori), Tim (wife Courtney) and Daryl Johnson and granddaughters Bethany and Hannah.
Memorial services will be held April 23, at Advent Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley.
Donations will be sent to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
