Police investigate downtown shooting

Spokane police are investigating a downtown shooting that left one man with non-life threatening injuries Monday night.

Police responded to the 400 block of South Maple Street around 9 p.m. Monday after receiving a report of a shooting, the Spokane Police Department said in a news release.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound and treated him at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital, the release said.

Police are searching for the shooter.

The victim and shooter likely knew each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the community, the release said. Anyone with information on the shooting should call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
