Vote yes on EMS levy

Vote yes for EMS. The Spokane Fire Department EMS Levy to be voted on by April 26 may well be the most important vote you cast in this election year. The greatest cause of premature death in our county is heart disease. The greatest cause of premature disability in our county is stroke and the greatest cause of death among our youth is trauma.

Well-trained and -equipped EMS responders supported by this levy afford our citizens the best chance of survival and continued good health when these conditions strike. The care provided by our EMS men and women, before the patient reaches the hospital, is often the most important link in the “chain of survival.”

Our Spokane Fire Department consistently demonstrates the ability to put their outstanding EMTs and paramedics on scene within a matter of minutes when an emergency illness or injury occurs. This levy that supports their efforts is the best bargain in health care today.

The results of your vote in favor of this levy will be measured in many lives saved and much disability prevented.
