Choosing bridesmaids dresses can be a tall order to fill. You want to find something that’s stylish, pleases everyone and works on different body types - all at the same time! Here are 7 dress trends that will leave your bridesmaids feeling chic and confident. 1. Tea Length This semi-formal hemline, which falls between the knee and ankle, is a total throwback to the 1950s. You can even take the retro look one step further with full, airy fabrics like tulle or chiffon. 2. Separates Take a break from traditional, long gowns with fun and flirty two-pieces! Pair a floral skirt with a bright top for a backyard wedding or go for a more romantic look by mixing lace and tulle. 3. Mismatched Gowns “A huge trend we’re seeing this year is mix-and-match dresses for bridesmaids,” says Brittney Magee Stone, public relations and content marketing manager for Watters. “This is a great option because it allows girls to choose dresses they feel comfortable and confident in, making the event and pictures that much more beautiful!” 4. One Shoulder This asymmetric style will have your bridal party looking like sophisticated Greek goddesses. Plus, they’re so much more comfortable than strapless gowns! 5. Tiered Skirts For brides who want that romantic, ethereal look, dresses with fluttery layers are the perfect choice. 6. Cap Sleeves Another alternative to strapless gowns: Cap sleeves. These petite sleeves are elegant and add an extra layer of comfort for your bridesmaids. 7. Neutral Tones Blushes, grays, off-whites and other neutral tones can help create a timeless color palette. Keep in mind your bridesmaids’ skin tones, though, cautions Stone. “While neutral shades are trendy right now, they don’t always suit every skin tone or hair color. Make sure to consider dress colors that will flatter all members of your bridal party,” she says.
