Education notebook: School supplies challenge ends Friday

NAC Architecture and Communities in Schools of Spokane County are challenging local architectural and engineering firms, general contractors and subconsultants to collect the most money and/or school supplies for 12 middle and high schools.

Donation boxes will be picked up Friday. Supplies will be distributed to East Valley, Centennial, Garry, Shaw, Sacajawea, Chase, Cheney and Westwood middle schools and Rogers, North Central, Ferris and Cheney high schools.

NAC will host a barbecue for the firms who donate at their office, 1203 W. Riverside Ave., Wednesday. CISSC and KREM 2’s Laura Papetti will recognize the firm that donates the most supplies and/or cash. The winning firm will also receive a trophy.
