United Airlines flight makes emergency landing in Spokane

A United Airlines flight from Calgary landed safely at Spokane International Airport Monday morning after mechanical problems triggered an emergency.

The flight to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport landed in Spokane about 9:30 a.m. with 84 persons on board.

Todd Woodard, spokesman for the airport, said the nature of the mechanical problem was not immediately known, but that everyone aboard was safe.

The airline was in charge of resolving issues with the plane and passengers, Woodard said.
