Condon in virtual reality

Is it me, or does it seem like Mayor Condon lives in a virtual Spokane of his own construction, not resembling the real Spokane the rest of us live in? He rejected the search committee recommendations for two police chief appointments at a time when public trust in the institution was waning. He essentially conspired to block the truth about the whole mess surrounding the firing of Chief Straub, and he oversaw the delay to release legally requested documents until after his re-election, and now he’s trying to do an end-around play with the City Council on the appointment of a new police chief.

So, again, I ask what Spokane is Mayor Condon living in when he calls the current recall effort “frivolous and politically motivated”? What sort of hubris does it take to continually thumb a nose at us and still think he is doing the “work for the people of Spokane”?

I am surprised it took this long to get a recall petition started, and I urge my fellow Spokanites to consider signing it when it hits the street.
