Bloomsday assists several area prep runners for trip to Foot Locker West Regionals

As has become custom, the Lilac Bloomsday Association is assisting area high school runners who are headed to the Foot Locker West Regional meet Saturday.

Eighteen area runners are headed to Mt. San Antonio College in southern California for the regional meet. They are: Hannah Barone (Mead), Leah Carney (Gonzaga Prep), Claire Dingus (University), Gabbi Ford (Central Valley), Kenzie Gaines (Lewis and Clark), Erinn Hill (North Central), Shawnee Konrad (Mt. Spokane), Mia Hill (NC), Rebecca Lehman (U-Hi), Libby Michael (Deer Park), Kearan Nelson (CV), Lizzy Shaw (Riverside), Jenna Rogers (Mead), Abby Smith (LC), Katie Thronson (LC) and Madison Ward (St. George’s).

Hayden Dressel of Mt. Spokane and Amir Ado of Ferris, who are also heading to the regional meet, are expected to fare well.

The top 10 boys and girls at the West Regional meet will advance to the Foot Locker Cross Country Nationals in San Diego on Dec. 10, joining top qualifiers from the Northeast, South and Midwest.
