ESPN.com and FootballScoop.com both claim to have sources indicating that Eastern Washington head football coach Beau Baldwin and Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig are the leading candidates for the Nevada head-coaching position.

“It’s just stuff that happens every year,” Baldwin told The Spokesman-Review on Tuesday.

This year it appears to be a little different. Baldwin’s name has appeared prominently in the Reno Gazette-Journal and fans sites. His name is usually on top of those lists.

Ludwig has time to current Nevada athletic director Doug Knuth, who was as assistant A.D. at Utah at the same time Ludwig was the Utes’ offensive coordinator. Ludwig helped Utah to a 13-0 season and the No. 2 ranking in the final Top 25 poll.
