CCS men win Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic; NIC fourth

Cesar Sandoval scored 17 points to lead five Sasquatch in double figures and CC Spokane defeated the Pierce Raiders 89-80 to win the Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic at Spokane Community College on Sunday.

Tournament MVP Levi Taylor added 14 points as did Ryan Alexander, who had four 3-pointers. Garrett Hull, an all-tournament choice with Sandoval, scored 13 points with Cameron Gay adding 11 points and a team-best seven rebounds.

The Sasquatch (5-1) led 44-36 at halftime. Their largest lead was 19 at 82-63.

Pierce fell to 6-1.

The North Idaho College Cardinals (4-1) took fourth-place with an 80-78 win over Yakima Valley (1-4).

For NIC, Markus Golder scored 21 points, Jordan Henderson had 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds, Tyrus Hosley scored 13 points, Niko Bevens added 11 and Sam Dowd had nine assists with seven points.
