A look back: Gonzaga has recent success against UW

Despite the University of Washington leading the head-to-head series 29-15 over Gonzaga, the Bulldogs have been more successful recently winning nine of the last 10 matchups with the Huskies.

Gonzaga has won the past two meetings, including a victory last season in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. Kyle Wiltjer had 24 points and Domantas Sabonis added another 17 to help defeat the Huskies 80-64. Both teams combined for 60 fouls and 74 free throws in this game.

The last victory for Washington was in 2005, when they defeated GU 99-95 in Seattle.

The Bulldogs have won both matchups in the McCarthey Athletic Center, and nine of the 20 meetings in Spokane.

Washington won the first game between the two schools 23-14 on February 24, 1910.
