SEATTLE – You really wouldn’t expect Russell Wilson to say anything else or act in any other way.

Asked about the prospect that there could be, what AccuWeather.com calls “a bit of snow” for Sunday’s Seattle game at Green Bay, Wilson responded with the enthusiasm of a high-schooler hearing the final bell on Friday afternoon.

“I can’t wait,” said Wilson, who played his final year of college football at the University of Wisconsin. “It’s going to be awesome. Obviously, I get to go back to Wisconsin. We know it’s going to be a tough environment. We’re really looking forward to it. We’re having a bullish approach to the whole thing, you really have to be tough minded. We want a tough environment, we look forward to those types of situations and I’m hoping it’s coming down, I’m hoping it’s snowing. I’m hoping it’s kind of a downpour of snow. That would be great.”

Like just about every other Seahawk asked about the weather this week, Wilson noted that nothing could be worse than the minus-6 temperature for the wild-card playoff game last January at Minnesota.

“It was crazy cold,” Wilson said. “This week I don’t think it will be that bad, but it will probably be coming down, knowing the state of Wisconsin, it will probably be snowing pretty good. Nothing really changes, you just have to protect the ball in terms of running it. Same thing with throwing it, too. At the same time, you still have to have that aggressive mentality and make the plays. It’s always harder in my opinion for the defense actually, because we know where we’re going and they don’t. So in terms of our runs, in terms of our passes, you want to take advantage of that.”

Wilson also whimsically noted that he got used to playing in the snow while growing up in Richmond, Virginia.

“You get all four seasons in Virginia,” Wilson said. “So summer is extremely hot, fall time is beautiful there and winter time you definitely get a ton of snow. I remember playing at my friend’s houses all the time, Zach Mendez, playing at his house and playing in the snow. We’d stay up until 3 in the morning playing in the snow. It would definitely snow there a bunch. Not as much as Wisconsin, though.”
