The Dirt: Dry Fly distillery to open tasting room

Dry Fly Distillery plans to open a tasting room next to its Spokane operation by early spring.

The new 1,200-square-foot facility will be in space adjacent to its distillery, located at 1003 E. Trent Ave. After a remodeling project where a coffee shop previously operated, the tasting room will hold classes, private events, and food pairings.

Since starting in 2007, Dry Fly has added more choices to its initial vodka and gin products by also offering 11 different styles of whiskey.

Liberty Lake retail building under construction

A 12,300-square-foot retail structure is scheduled for construction in Liberty Lake.

The single-story building with a mixture of commercial uses will go in at 21801 E. Country Vista Dr., on a 1.3-acre site. The property at the northwest corner of Country Vista and Whitman Lane is owned by Statewide Mortgage Service.

Plans call for a restaurant and other mixed retail uses, with construction planned during early 2017.

Obstacle-training gym to open downtown

Gym owners K. Jay Davis and Heather Davis plan to open SCE Fitness at a new Spokane location for customers who work with its trainers. The facility is expected to open Dec. 31 at 104 W. Third Ave.

The owners are having equipment built for the site that are obstacles similar to those used by people training for American Ninja Warrior and Spartan Race.

K. Jay Davis, an Ironman competitor, has endurance sports nutrition training and is finalizing his Spartan SGX coach training. He runs elite Spartan races each year.

Brokerage leases space in North Pointe

An Edward Jones branch for financial services has leased space in north Spokane.

The 1,000-square-foot office is located at 9708 N. Nevada St., on the lower level of the North Pointe Office building. Other tenants include dentists, architecture and contractors.
