Sanders smelling sweet

So Dana Milbank (Jan. 28) says we progressives/liberals need to hold our schnozzes and vote for Hillary Clinton if our primary goal is avoiding a Donald Trump presidency.

I’d like to pose this question: What’s the point of preventing a Trump presidency if we’re expected to settle for ersatz progressives like Hillary, someone who’s closely allied herself with Wall Street movers and shakers, massive carcinogen producers like Monsanto and huge financial corporations like Goldman Sachs?

Hasn’t he noticed that the latest polling shows Sen. Bernie Sanders potentially trouncing Trump while Hillary’s lead over Trump would be less than the margin of error?

Progressives everywhere are figuring out that the only way to preserve the social conscience legacy of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Democratic Party is to excrete all of the phony Republican-Lite posers, like Hillary, who’ve been cozying up to Wall Street over the past 30 to 40 years. Electing Sanders, with Sen. Elizabeth Warren as his running mate, we hope, would be a phenomenal start.

Meanwhile, if Milbank feels compelled to find an excuse to hold his nose, he should go within sniffing distance of pretty much any Charles Krauthammer column.
