Charges sought in stolen credit card case

Liberty Lake Police recently helped solve a case of credit card theft that happened in another jurisdiction.

Police learned of the fraud the morning of Feb. 1. A credit card stolen from a woman’s mailbox was used in Liberty Lake. Officers were able to identify the person who used the card and have requested that charges of theft and fraud be filed by the prosecutor’s office.

Other incidents from Feb. 1-8:

Feb. 1: Child Protective Services said it had received a report of child abuse in the 700 block of North Pack Trail Lane but had determined that the allegations were unfounded.

Feb. 5: A reckless driver was reported in the area of Garry Drive and Settler Drive. Police could not locate a car with a license plate that matched the one relayed by the caller.

Feb. 6: Suspicious vehicles were reported in the 2000 block of North Winrock Street. Officers determined that the cars were parked legally and not stolen.

Arrests: Police made one arrest for driving under the influence, one for driving with a suspended license and one for trespassing.

Citations: Officers gave out citations for expired vehicle registration, driving without a license with identification, following too close, failure to yield right of way and reckless endangerment.
