Spokane police searching for man accused of exposing himself to children

Police are searching for a man who has been reported in multiple locations around Spokane exposing himself to children.

The man appears to be targeting girls age 6 to 11 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. He is sometimes on foot and sometimes driving a black Chevy Avalanche with black rims, gray plastic roll bar, writing on the rear quarter panel and a chrome front bumper, said Officer Teresa Fuller.

He is described as a white man around 30 to 45 years old. He was most recently reported by a parent as being in the area of Fifth Avenue and Thor Street around 8 a.m. Wednesday. He has also been spotted in the area of Fifth and Florida and in Hillyard, Fuller said.

In most of the cases police have not been notified until several hours after the event because children have waited until after school to tell a parent what happened, Fuller said. Parents are being asked to talk to their children and have them immediately report any incidents to a trusted adult.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
