See original ‘Revenant’
After reading the well-written article about mountain man Hugh Glass in the Feb. 4 Outdoors section of the Spokesman-Review, I felt it was important to respond.
First, the movie “The Revenant,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, that’s generating all of the hype and hoopla around the upcoming Oscars, is just a second-rate remake of the movie “Man in the Wilderness,” made in 1971 and starring the late great British actor Richard Harris. Harris created the role and is the revenant.
Second, DiCaprio is no Harris. Do yourself a favor, skip the overblown imitation and get a copy of the original. It’s a much better movie.
