Raleigh police vote not to boycott Beyonce concert in May

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Raleigh police union will not boycott Beyonce’s upcoming concert in response to her Super Bowl halftime act and new video, which some unions said contain “anti-police” messages.

Multiple media outlets reported union members took the unanimous vote during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Raleigh Police Protective Association.

The News & Observer of Raleigh had reported that up to 50 association members were expected to vote at a meeting originally scheduled to discuss the group’s support for better pay for rank-and-file officers.

Beyonce is scheduled to perform at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh on May 3.

Unions in Miami, Tampa and Nashville, Tennessee, are either calling for officers to boycott her music or urging them not volunteer to work at her shows.
