Women’s basketball: Undefeated George Fox ends Whitworth’s season

Kaitlin Jamieson, Justine Benner and Kim Frost combined for 50 points Thursday as undefeated George Fox ended Whitworth’s season with a 95-64 victory in a Northwest Conference semifinal at Newberg, Oregon.

The Bruins (25-0) will host Puget Sound (19-7) in Saturday night’s championship game. Puget Sound advanced with an 84-79 win over Whitman (17-8).

Benner shot 8 for 10 from the free-throw line and finished with seven assists. Jamieson shot 7 for 8 from the floor, and Frost was 3 for 4 on 3-pointers and 6 for 10 from the field.

KC McConnell, playing her final game for the Pirates (15-10), scored 24 points on 10-for-20 shooting from the field.

Pac-12

Washington State 83, Colorado 70: Borislava Hristova led five players in double figures with 17 points and the Cougars (14-14, 5-12) finished 10 of 18 on 3-pointers while defeating the Buffaloes (7-21, 2-15) in Pullman.

Dawnyelle Awa and Maria Kostourkov added 12 points apiece for the Cougars, who never trailed.

WSU finished 15 of 17 from the line.

Washington 70, Utah 60: Kelsey Plum scored 26 points, hitting 11 of 12 from the line, as the Huskies (19-9, 10-7) defeated the Utes (15-13, 7-10) in Seattle.

Talia Walton added 20 points and Chatel Osahor had 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Huskies.

Washington shot 17 of 19 from the line.

Region 18 tournament

North Idaho 84, Utah State-Eastern 67: Stormee Van Belle finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two assists while leading the fourth-seeded Cardinals (21-8) past the fifth-seeded Golden Eagles (9-20) during an opener in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Van Belle shot 7 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 3 on 3-pointers.

NIC will face top-seeded Salt Lake (29-1) at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals. Snow (20-11) and host Southern Idaho (26-4) are in the other semifinal.
