St. Maries advances to boys Idaho 2A state tournament

Brady Martin scored eight of his team-high 13 points in the first quarter and added seven rebounds as St. Maries advanced to the eight-team Idaho 2A state tournament with a 55-40 win over Grangeville Friday in Troy.

Dakota Wilson added 11 points, five assists and three steals and Nate Masterson chipped in seven points and nine boards for the Lumberjacks, who outscored the Bulldogs 23-8 in the opening quarter.

St. Maries will play West Side in the first round of state Thursday at Capital High School. West Side advanced with a 57-44 win over Soda Springs.
