Spokane episodes of Antiques Roadshow start Monday

Three Spokane episodes of Antiques Roadshow will kick off the 20th season of the popular PBS television show on Monday.

The show filmed in Spokane in June. More than 4,500 people went to the Spokane Convention Center during the event with antique items to be evaluated and appraised by experts from around the country.

Among the items brought in were a pair of paintings by Amadeo de Souza Cardoso that were valued at between $200,000 and $300,000. A woman who worked in the White House during John F. Kennedy’s administration brought in several pieces, including three speeches with JFK’s handwritten notes. Her items were valued at between $60,000 and $80,000.

The first episode of the new season airs at 8 p.m. Monday on KSPS. The other Spokane episodes will be shown on Jan. 11 and 18.
