Multiple fire districts in Grant County spent Saturday afternoon and evening battling a large grain elevator fire in Wilson Creek.

The fire was reported to be under control at 5:30 p.m. but was still burning. Two large wood grain elevators appear to be a total loss, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The agencies that responded included Grant County fire districts 5, 12 and 13 as well as the Ephrata Fire Department.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail line was closed in the area, which is about 25 miles west of Odessa, but has since reopened.
