Baby Jesus stolen in Liberty Lake

The Liberty Lake Police department had a fairly quiet week recently, with a couple thefts reported and a few arrests made.

The thefts both occurred on Jan. 5. Police were called to the 23000 block of East Boone Avenue shortly before 10:30 a.m. The resident reported that someone had stolen the baby Jesus from the nativity scene in her front yard.

Later that day a gas station in the 22000 block of East Appleway Avenue reported that someone had driven off without paying for $41.51 worth of gas.

Jan. 4: A hit-and-run accident was reported in a parking lot in the 1700 block of North Madison Street. The car owner reported damage of about $1,000 to her car.

Jan. 6: An argument over the discipline of a child was reported in the 1200 block of North Ormond Road. No crime was committed.

Jan. 8: An employee of a business in the 24000 block of East Mission Avenue reported a threat from a policy holder. The man reportedly threatened to kill the employee because he thought he hadn’t received enough money.

Arrests: Police made two arrests on warrants and one for driving with a suspended license.

Citations: Officers handed out two citations for failure to show proof of liability insurance and two for speeding. Additional citations were given for failure to yield while entering road from driveway and possession of a dangerous weapon.
