Man shot outside nightclub identified as EWU student

The man shot at a north Spokane nightclub early Monday morning has been identified as Eduardo Villagomez, 21.

Villagomez was a junior at Eastern Washington University and was a transfer from Wenatchee Valley College in the fall of 2015, said university spokesman Dave Meany.

“EWU sends its deepest sympathies to the family in light of this tragedy,” Meany said.

Villagomez died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police have not released any information about the shooting, which happened at 2 a.m. Monday outside The Palomino at 6425 N. Lidgerwood.
