WCC men’s basketball: Nick Emery, Kyle Collinsworth lead BYU past LMU
Nick Emery scored 24 points, Chase Fisher added 20, Kyle Collinsworth had his 10th career triple-double and BYU took control in the second half Thursday night to defeat Loyola Marymount 91-80 in Los Angeles.
Collinsworth finished with 10 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 15 assists for the Cougars (14-6, 5-2). Adom Jacko had a career-high 26 points on 11-of-12 shooting for the Lions (9-10, 2-6).
Pepperdine 76, San Diego 58: Lamond Murray Jr. scored 21 points and Stacy Davis added 18 with 10 rebounds to lead the Waves (12-7, 5-3) to a victory over the Toreros (6-12, 1-6) in Malibu, California.
The Waves are 8-0 at home for the first time since 1985-86.
Pacific 70, Portland 61: Ray Bowles scored 19 points, including three made 3-pointers, and the Tigers (6-12, 4-4) held off the Pilots (9-12, 3-5) for a win in Stockton, California.
Alec Kobre added 11 points and Eric Thompson had nine, hitting 7 of 10 attempts from the free-throw line.
San Francisco 74, Santa Clara 61: Devin Watson had 17 of his 22 points in the second half to help the Dons (10-9, 4-5) rally past the Broncos (7-14, 3-6) for a victory in Santa Clara, California.
Uche Ofoegbu had a career-high 21 points and Derksen added 19 points. Watson made 4 of 6 3-pointers.
