We found doctors

Regarding the letter about a shortage of primary care physicians (“Can’t find a physician,” Jan. 13): I, too, recently moved to Spokane, with my wife, for retirement. When we came, we began replacing our former medical care providers.

Unlike the previous writer, we had no problem. In fact, every office we called provided appointments for new patients. We checked them all out through various entities to determine their reliability and ethics and visited them before selecting the ones we wanted to use. We both have Medicare and Blue Cross/Blue Shield as insurance, and all of them were happy to accept those payment methods.

We are very happy with the medical care we’ve gotten here, except for one thing. Physicians don’t offer immunizations; instead sending us to a pharmacy. But the pharmacies don’t file the charges through regular Medicare, and we have to use our pharmaceutical coverage. We’d prefer the vaccinations be billed through Medicare.
