Davis leads Waves past Toreros

Stacy Davis made 11 of 18 field goals and scored a season-high 25 points to guide the Pepperdine Waves to a 75-65 victory over the San Diego Toreros on Thursday night in San Diego.

Lamond Murray Jr. added 17 points and Jett Raines scored 12 for Pepperdine.

Marcus Harris hit a 3-pointer to give San Diego (6-14, 1-8 West Coast Conference) a 5-2 lead, but the Waves scored the next nine points, and later used a 14-5 run to push their lead to 17, 42-25, with 2:33 left in the half.

Jito Kok hit a jumper that pulled the Toreros within seven with 13:56 to play before Pepperdine (14-7, 7-3) used a 13-2 run over the next six-plus minutes to make it 67-49.

San Francisco 87, Portland 76: Ronnie Boyce III scored 19 points, Tim Derksen added 16 and the Dons (11-9, 5-5) defeated the Pilots (9-14, 3-7) in Portland.

The Dons have won consecutive games since snapping a three-game skid. Portland has lost three straight and seven of its last eight games.

D’Marques Tyson scored a career-high 27 points and Alec Wintering had 24 to lead Portland.

BYU 87, Loyola Marymount 62: Kyle Davis scored 19 points, Chase Fischer added 17 and the Cougars (15-7, 6-3) cruised past the Lions (10-11, 3-7) in Provo, Utah.

The Cougars fell behind 8-0 but used a 10-0 spurt that turned into a 20-2 run and led 38-24 at the half.

Adom Jacko had 20 points for the Lions.
