In brief: Russell Westbrook’s triple-double leads Oklahoma City over Houston

NBA: Russell Westbrook’s sixth triple-double of the season helped Oklahoma City defeat visiting Houston 116-108 on Friday night.

Westbrook finished with 26 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds. It was the 25th triple-double of his career.

Kevin Durant had 33 points and 12 rebounds and Enes Kanter scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half for the Thunder, who have won 10 of 11 overall and six straight at home.

James Harden had 33 points, seven rebounds and seven assists and Corey Brewer added 17 points for the Rockets.

Houston’s Dwight Howard was ejected in the third quarter after picking up his second technical foul.

Celtics run past Magic for 5th consecutive win: Kelly Olynyk (Gonzaga) and Marcus Smart scored 16 points apiece as host Boston won a season-high fifth straight game, beating slumping Orlando 113-94.

Ignited by Olynyk, who scored nine of his points in the fourth quarter, the Celtics seized control by starting the period on a 22-4 run and pushing their lead as high as 27.

Nik Vucevic led Orlando with 14 points and eight rebounds. Shabazz Napier added 13 points.

Orlando has now lost 10 consecutive regular-season games in Boston.

Love, Irving sharp as Cavaliers beat Pistons: Kevin Love scored 19 of his 29 points in the first half, Kyrie Irving had 28 points and Cleveland rolled to another high-scoring win, 114-106 over Detroit in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The Cavaliers have won three straight since losing to Chicago in Tyronn Lue’s first game as Cleveland’s coach.

LeBron James had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, shrugging off a rare missed dunk in the third quarter. He and surpassed the 26,000-point mark, becoming the youngest to do so at 31 years, 30 days.

Andre Drummond had 20 points and eight rebounds for Detroit.

Anthony returns, Knicks handle Suns: Carmelo Anthony had 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in his return from a two-game absence, and New York snapped a four-game losing streak with a 102-84 victory over visiting Phoenix.

Kristaps Porzingis also rejoined the lineup with seven points and seven rebounds, and the Knicks sent the Suns to their 13th straight road loss.

Rookie Devin Booker scored 21 points for the Suns, who fell to 4-21 on the road. Their last road victory was Dec. 7 in Chicago.

Mavs top Nets, Williams struggles against old team: Chandler Parsons had 19 points and a season-high 10 rebounds while Deron Williams struggled in his first game against his former team and Dallas beat visiting Brooklyn 91-79.

Parsons led the Mavericks in scoring for the fifth time in six games.

Williams, who sat out a visit to Brooklyn in December with a left hamstring strain, scored eight points on 3-of-14 shooting.

Brook Lopez scored 28 points to lead the Nets, who had a four-game winning streak in Dallas snapped.

Wade scores 24, Heat hold off Bucks: Dwyane Wade scored 24 points and hit a long jumper with 44.5 seconds left, and visiting Miami won its third straight road game by beating Milwaukee 107-103.

Wade led a balanced scoring effort with all five Miami starters scoring in double figures. Chris Bosh added 20.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 28 points.

Hood, Favors lead Jazz over Timberwolves: Rodney Hood scored 22 points, Derrick Favors had 20 in his return to the starting lineup and Utah beat Minnesota 103-90 in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz have won consecutive games for the first time in nearly three weeks.

Karl-Anthony Towns led Minnesota with 32 points and 12 rebounds, and Gorgui Dieng added 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Lillard scores 22 points, Blazers beat Hornets: Damian Lillard scored 22 points and Allen Crabbe added 20 off the bench for Portland in a 109-91 victory over visiting Charlotte.

C.J. McCollum and Al-Farouq Aminu had 17 points apiece for the Blazers, who have won three straight and seven of their last nine games overall. They’ve won eight straight over Charlotte at home.

Marvin Williams had 20 points and nine rebounds as the Hornets fell to 6-17 on the road this season.

Clippers send Lakers to 9th straight loss: Chris Paul scored 27 points and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Lakers 105-93 for their franchise-record ninth straight victory over their Staples Center co-tenant.

Austin Rivers added 17 points off the bench for the Clippers, who improved to 14-3 without Blake Griffin. The Lakers dropped their ninth in a row and 13th in 14 games.

No. 16 Stanford beats No. 25 Washington

Women’s Top 25: Lili Thompson scored 27 points to help No. 16 Stanford beat No. 25 Washington 69-53 in Stanford, California.

Thompson grabbed seven rebounds, made 5 of 8 from 3-point range and finished one point short of her career high.

The Cardinal (16-5, 6-3 Pac-12) had a 16-point lead late in the first quarter and the Huskies (15-5, 6-3) got no closer than 12 from there.

Wiese helps No. 9 Oregon St overwhelm Arizona: Sydney Wiese returned to the starting lineup after a hand injury and had 15 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists as No. 9 Oregon State overwhelmed Arizona 71-43 in Corvallis, Oregon.

Deven Hunter scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Ruth Hamblin added 12 points for the Beavers (16-3, 7-1 Pac 12), who won their seventh in a row.

Fields, Drummer lead No. 15 UCLA over Colorado: Nirra Fields scored 17 points, Lajahna Drummer added 16 and No. 15 UCLA defeated Colorado 82-64 in Boulder, Colorado, for its fourth-straight win.

Kelli Hayes scored 13 points and Monique Billings 10 for the Bruins (15-5, 7-2 Pac-12).

The Buffaloes (5-15, 0-9) lost their 10th straight.

Powell scores 24; Seton Hall beats No. 23 DePaul: Aleesha Powell made all five of her 3-point shots and scored 24 points and Seton Hall used a lopsided start to beat Big East leader and 23rd-ranked DePaul 83-74 in Chicago.

The Pirates (17-4, 7-3) led 21-6 after the first quarter with Powell scoring eight points.

Woodland, Choi tied at Torrey Pines

Golf: Phil Mickelson was expecting to post a low score on the North Course at Torrey Pines and go into the weekend with a chance to win the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. By closing with three straight bogeys, he’s going home after missing the cut.

Defending champion Jason Day, No. 2 in the world, also missed the cut.

Gary Woodland powered his way to a 5-under 67 on the South Course and had a share of the lead with K.J. Choi, who shot 67 on the North. Choi has not won in five years on the PGA Tour.

Three tied for lead in LPGA Tour opener: Megan Khang shot a 5-under 68 in windy conditions for a share of the lead in the season-opening Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic in Paradise Island, Bahamas, her first event as an LPGA Tour member.

The 18-year-old Khang eagled the par-5 fourth hole and had four birdies and a bogey to match England’s Charley Hull and Japan’s Haru Nomura at 8-under 138 at the Ocean Club. Khang, from Rockland, Massachusetts, tied for sixth at Q-school in December to earn a tour card.
