7 Nights Out: A look at what’s on deck this week

1. Alice in Chains

Mega-platinum rock band with roots in Seattle’s grunge scene returns to Spokane.

When: 8 p.m. Saturday

2. Wallace Blues Festival

Annual event features free music on Friday by artists such as Sammy Eubanks, the Dog House Boyz and John Kelley at different venues around town. Gates open at 11 a.m. Saturday, and music venues will alternate between the Gazebo and the Main Stage until midnight. Beer garden all day long. Headlining will be Curtis Salgado, along with music by Samantha Fish, Harlis Sweetwater, Bottleneck Blues Band, Ayron Jones, Sara Brown, and Dr. Phil and the Enablers. Sunday breakfast at the Elks with music by Neil, Ramiro and John Kelley.

When: Friday through Sunday

3. Trout Fishing In America

This Grammy-nominated musical partnership of Keith Grimwood on bass and Ezra Idlet on guitar and banjo brings folk-Americana music to fans of all ages. Performing as part of Sandpoint Summerfest in Sagle. A Sunday concert at Chateau Rive in Spokane has been canceled.

When: 3:30-5 p.m. Saturday

4. Buckethead

Innovative guitarist mixes metal, avant garde and funk for an evening that promises to be weird.

When: 7:30 p.m. Monday

5. Mozart on a Summer’s Eve

Northwest Bach Festival Artistic Director Zuill Bailey will perform with the Sitka Cello Quartet, and the Connoisseur Concerts Wind Ensemble will perform audience favorites under the leadership of Verne Windham. Soprano soloist Madeline McNeil also will be featured. Table seating comes with gourmet coffee and dessert from Luna.

When: 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday

6. Wye Oak

Baltimore-based indie rock duo is on the road in support of their of fifth studio album, “Tween.” It’s available now as a digital record, and will be physically released Aug. 5.

7. “Man of La Mancha”

Nominated for 10 Tony Awards and winner of five, this remarkable musical is getting a modern interpretation. Is it a play within a play or one man’s delusion as the cell walls collapse around him?

When: Friday through July 30; performances are Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m.
