Breanna Stewart helps Storm end three-game skid

SAN ANTONIO – Breanna Stewart had 21 points and seven rebounds, and the Seattle Storm ended a three-game losing streak with a 78-68 win over the San Antonio Stars on Friday night.

Jewell Loyd added 15 points and Crystal Langhorne had 12 points and eight rebounds for Seattle (7-12).

San Antonio (5-14) only led twice, 28-26 on a Sydney Colson basket midway through the second quarter and 38-37 with two minutes left in the first half after a Moriah Jefferson 3-pointer.

Stewart quickly put the Storm back on top and Noelle Quinn had a three-point play, her only points of the game. Quinn then found Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis for a 3 and Stewart had two free throws as Seattle closed the half with a 10-0 run to lead 47-38.

Jefferson, the second pick in the 2016 draft after Steward, led San Antonio with 16 points and Haley Peters had 15.

Seattle had three players with five assists and the Storm finished with 25 assists on 30 baskets.
