American republic broken
The American republic has passed its breaking point. This happened to the Roman republic in about 100 B.C., when the Tribunes Gaius and Tiberius Gracchus were murdered in front of hundreds. No one who ordered it was charged, because they were powerful senators and “the fix was in.”
This happened to the German republic in 1934, when during “The Night of the Long Knives” dozens of Hitler’s opponents were murdered by the SS. No one in the state or Nazi Party apparatus was ever charged with these crimes.
When “who you are” trumps “what you’ve done,” the rule of law has broken down. The corruption of money, power, connections and blackmail takes the place of Law.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has betrayed its public trust; admitting Secretary Clinton’s wrongdoing while not recommending charges. Without the rule of law, we become a banana republic. FBI Director James Comey’s disgraceful announcement proclaims that we are no longer equal under the law. The American republic no longer functions; it has been broken.
