Human remains found along Thurston County hiking trail

OLYMPIA, Wash. – A Thurston County hiking trail was closed after authorities discovered human remains next to it.

KIRO-TV reported that the male remains were found next to the Yelm-Tenino trail near the Deschutes River on Thursday. Officials said there was no evidence of foul play.

Thurston Public Works closed the trail Friday and reopened it on Saturday.

Authorities have not released any further details.
